Mawabu is situated on the snow right in the middle of the ski fields at Perisher Valley. The lodge is an easy 8 to 10 minutes walk from either the Perisher Centre or the Ski Tube. With luggage, it is preferable to take the over snow for a small fee.

The lodge itself is situated above Rock Creek with views across, up and down the valley.

Although close to the Perisher Centre and Quad Chair it is very quiet and peaceful.

From Cooma

• Drive to Jindabyne and then on to Bullocks Flat.

There are no overnight parking facilities at Perisher Valley. Overnight parking at Bullocks Flat is free; from here you can catch the Skitube to Perisher Valley .

From the Ski Tube:

• Walk south along Charlotte Pass Road and take the first road left at the Eiger Chalet - where the White Spider Restaurant is located.
• Walk straight up the rise and immediately in front of you will be Snow Gums Lodge.
• Walk to the left of Snow Gums Lodge and you will be at Mawabu.

From the Perisher Centre:

• Leave the Perisher Centre and walk west, passing behind the Quad Chair.
• Cross the wooden bridge and the Eiger is straight in front.
• Directions then as above for walking from the Ski Tube.

Guests may ski from Mawabu to the base of the Quad Chair or take a boot and ski locker in the Perisher Centre and stroll home after a refreshing drink at one of the many bars in the Perisher Centre or the Sun Deck Hotel.
